At least according to Ken Rockwell, the Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX 11-16mm 2.8 is the lens in question.

She’s a beaut, huh?
I stumbled across Kens Review this morning. And I must admint that I was really surprised by he claim.
Having compared it directly to my Nikkor 12-24mm f/4 AF-S DX, it’s obvious to me that this Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 is better than my Nikkor.
This Tokina 11-16mm is the world’s fastest and sharpest ultrawide lens for small format digital cameras (Nikon DX and Canon 1.6x). Considering its bargain price of under $600, its the world’s best ultrawide lens for digital SLRs.
But if he read on, you can see from his sample shots that he is spot on.
I have had my eye on this lens for quite some time(the 18mm is just not cutting it any more for “wide”). After reading through Kens review though, its set in stone, I will be ordering this very soon.
If you need more reassurance, just check out the photos over at the Tokina AT-X 116 Pro DX (F2.8 11-16mm) Group on Flickr.
